Steve G Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 I installed my new fuel tank today and hooked up all the evap/vent tubes that consist of 3” rubber hoses on each end... it’s a lot of 3” hoses. When I removed the tank and evap lines none of the hoses had clamps.. Is this correct? Press them on and go? Thank you in advance. Quote
MC1of80 Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 On "Barn Find", my 71 402 car, there were clamps on both ends of the hoses. I purchased a clamp kit from ground up, aka ss396.com. 1 Quote
Dtret Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Put clamps on it. That’ canister is on the interior of the car. You don’t want to risk fuel vapors. The squeeze clamps are what my 71 had. 1 Quote
stangeba Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 FYI! I almost threw out this small restrictor from one of the small hoses on my 71. 2 Quote

Hey, just wondering exactly what that restrictor restricts and where a guy could obtain one? I’ll spare the details on the issues I’ve had since my Mechanic replaced hoses in front of the fuel tank and more than likely discarded it not knowing it existed. I just found out from this thread that it existed. thanks. 1 Quote
Michael Boyte Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Jared Ritchie quite possible would have one, give him a call 864-940-2146 . We have several people here that have everything Monte. You also may want to call Leo Konik's restorations 810-334-4162 2 Quote
MC Firstcar Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Thanks Michael. I actually have Jared‘s number from a previous parts purchase and meeting him at the 2023 Eastern meet. Not sure why I did not think to contact him, so thanks for jarring my brain.😀 3 Quote
stangeba Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Just a guess, but perhaps the restrictor lowers the amount of vacuum so liquid gasoline doesn't get pulled into the canister when there is high vacuum like coasting down a hill? 1 Quote
