1970mcss Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Looks great, I used polishing compound to get the scratches out of plastic lens. I thought there was a write up hear or maybe on the internet. I saw that toothpaste may work Quote
Dtret Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 If the lense is too bad, replace it. I got one for my pos70 at The Parts Place and it fit perfect and even had the gm part number stamped on it. Quote
420ponies Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 The tooth paste does work well. Microfiber cloth to rub off. I used a t-shirt to apply it. Light scratches only, like they say, a new one will look great! I've seen guys use a polishing pad on them back in the day. Restored a ' 66 Elfujimo ,427/4speed like that (back in '85), when you couldn't buy "new parts". 1 Quote
BobW Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I've used Novus plastic polish for years on my motorcycle face shields and windscreens, works great! https://www.amazon.com/NOVUS-PK1-2-Plastic-Scratch-Remover-Bottles/dp/B002UD0GIG/ref=asc_df_B002UD0GIG/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312168126179&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11997765096847143644&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9012392&hvtargid=pla-406644991415&psc=1 Quote
