Getting closer! Motor and frame are done. Major Body work is done and got the firewall and door jambs done today!

So, check this out! Got the gauge cluster from the shop today to clean it up....and i find this date stamped on the back. 53years ago today! 20230316_154930.thumb.jpg.b85517d22bd7f946dceff72452557923.jpgBy the way any good tips for cleaning up the clear cover and getting scratches out?

Hey that's today but 53 years ago that's cool. I guess I'm a little slow 🐌 great looking progress keep up the great work!

Looks great, I used polishing compound to get the scratches out of plastic lens. I thought there was a write up hear or maybe on the internet. I saw that toothpaste may work

If the lense is too bad, replace it. I got one for my pos70 at The Parts Place and it fit perfect and even had the gm part number stamped on it.

The tooth paste does work well. Microfiber cloth to rub off. I used a t-shirt  to apply it. Light scratches only, like they say, a new one will look great! I've seen guys use a polishing pad on them back in the day. Restored a ' 66 Elfujimo ,427/4speed like that (back in '85), when you couldn't buy "new parts". gallery_1763_8_1413157507_2589.jpg

So cool when that happens! 1 out of 365 chance it can occur, but pretty cool discovery!

I wound up replacing it. Started polishing it, but just better things to spend time on ya know! All and all pretty cheap compared to the rest of the car!!! LOL
