BobW Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Starting to strip the car for paint. How does the 'Monte Carlo' script emblem come off of the sail panel? I cant see or feel any push/speed nuts on the studs. Is it just a press fit through the vinyl top and panel? 1 Quote
MC1of80 Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 It is held on with 3 barrel nuts. Just gently and slowly "pry" the emblems off of the sailpanel. 5 1 Quote

smokinquack Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 So what is a barrel nut, how do you install it after paint? I'll be doing the same thing soon. Quote
Michael Boyte Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Depending on the condition of your interior sail panels, should they need to be replaced, you can access the barrel nuts behind them. I expect someone has another solution without having to do that. Possibly even some push-in type connector. Quote
MC1of80 Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Barrel "nuts" are push in fasteners. They go around the stud snuggly and "snap/pop" in when you install the emblem. 2 Quote
