Hello,  I just picked up a 1970 SS.  Black Cherry with black vinyl top and black interior.  Overall very clean but not perfect....and 8-track works!

It only took a couple hours reviewing the content on this site and the forum before joining as a dues paying member.

I'm new to the club but is my car?  The car came out of an estate; along with another 1970 SS; almost identical to the one I purchased.  Below is a picture of mine.  Not a lot of info on the car.  The previous owner, I believe located in central Pennsylvania region, had the car from 1990.  no paperwork came with the car except some old pictures from the early 90's and a First Generation Monte Carlo Club card.  The card has a Leechburg, PA address.  So maybe the car was in the club before.

If the previous owner was from central PA I wouldn’t be surprised if it attended one of the eastern meets.  I'm looking forward to next years meet in Carlisle.

Welcome to the club. Great site, with a bunch a of great people. I believe the gentleman that did the restoration on this was a club member, but I could be mistaken. A lot of members here were in the know on the estate sale and I believe that one member bought almost everything they were selling. Congratulations on your purchase, it’s a very nice looking car.

Yes, the card you found in the car was from our past club President.  Glad you found us, we are happy to have you as a new dues paying member of the club.  Hit us with as many questions as you like, we love them, especially the hard questions.  We also LOVE pictures, especially when the pictures outnumber the questions.

Let me know if you need any information on the Eastern Meet, I will be happy to assist you.  We will look forward to seeing your car in Carlisle at the Eastern meet and getting to meet you in person.

thank you all for the great welcome!

i've been at the GM show in Carlisle for the past few years with another car.  i have to say it was seeing this group here and the others with first gens at Carlisle that gave me the bug to get one.  It took a few years (and a kitchen remodel) before i got it...but i finally did!

Well that explains one of the pictures in the glove box.  i knew of the 2 and was told they were "his and hers".    nothing about a third so i didn't know what to think.  i sure didn't think someone would have 3 identical cars.🤔

2 are SS's. One numbers matching, one not and the other was a 400 small block I believe.
