Another Syracuse mini-meet in the books.  Thanks to all that attended for a great weekend.     3 outstanding meals, parking lot bench racing, an adult beverage or two, some ice cream, 8500 cars, Dave and Kevdog, and 1 rabid stuffed opossum.    Looking forward to next year!

I didn’t make it to the nationals, but I did manage to make it to the hotel for bench racing with the club. Broke 2 cars trying to get there and had to AAA my stupid Honda back home. Ended up stealing my moms car, but we made it happen. Still had a great time and made the best of it. It was great to see everyone and spend some time with the FGMCC! Can’t wait for the next one!

We're so glad you made it too, Ryan! You certainly jumped through hoops to get there, and kept smiling all the way.

Before you know it, next year's Carlisle & Syracuse will be upon us (and over in a flash, as always happens), so plan on attending both if possible.

As we were loosely discussing last night, if anyone is interested in maybe having a late season (October-December?) get together, without the Montes even, that's something we can explore. As we always say, "it's about the people, not the cars".

Mark T. has already stated, if it's anywhere in the northern hemisphere, he's out because it's too cold, 😁. It's a thought though. Any thoughts, suggestions?

Great video. One of these meets we may actually get a photo of Willie driving his car.

Bob and I talked to a guy today that has a 72 350 4 speed as far as he knows it's factory but there's a story behind it that don't sound right. But him and his wife were very nice people and will check out site. I also talked to the mom of the red 350 71 4 speed car she thinks it's a factory speed but I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner her daughter. But we were still stalking today too.

Thank You FGMCC for a great weekend 🤘

A few shout outs........Jim, thanks for being a great navigator, Frank, for trying not to get us killed, and not so much for Co-Pilot Willie for NOT identifying local traffic laws until after I broke them 🤣 For the Goth? girl who climbed out of the back of a hearse on the show field, If I had any hair that wasn't already grey that issue has now been rectified 🤣

For those in attendance and those who have been to a meet before.....you know there is a funny story behind ALL those comments. For those that have never been to a meet, those are NOT disparaging comments, they are a teaser of what happens when we all get together.

It's been said a million times before......It's NOT just about the Monte's, its the people that make these meets an EXPERIENCE. Just a warning, once you go to one I doubt you can resist signing up for the next one.

Not sure is this will work but the white monte we were talking about did a dyno pull, I was there it pulled 555 on one and 565 on the next. That thing is a beast but has a lot of patina.

This is my friend Zach’s car. They shoved that big block in last minute and had it running nice! IMG_6883.thumb.png.869209366563d7d7a197557499e101b3.png

I for one had a great time at this  Mini-Meet. 1st time "staying over " for it and Wow!!, Just the entertainment factor blows Carlisle away. Helicopter's with search lights, tethered drones, sheriff patrol cars very 20 seconds up & down the street , some in " hot pursuit" , almost getting hit sitting for "bench racing",and of course, there was Mark (Drag Cat) there too!!  Glad to meet everyone who showed up to participate . I for one will be back for it next year ,so you guys can hammer on me more !! IMG_1438.thumb.jpg.9faf796a7eabcb30e6cd2a9a06bce3d6.jpg

This was all C.K., Willie. He takes care of everything as far as the planning, hotel accommodations, dinner reservations, etc., and does a great job at it. He was also responsible for getting Dave Kindig to pop over to our area for the pictures as well.

Also, as you mentioned, his son Dennis is ALWAYS a great help (here & Carlisle), no matter what the task may be. It certainly goes a lot smoother because of his efforts, so THANK YOU too, Dennis.

As always, the rest of the group pitches in to help as well. We've got the setup & breakdown of the show field tents, banners, and flags down to a few minutes it seems.

In all, a very successful weekend, so thanks again C.K. for making this another good one for us.

Another successful First Generation Monte Carlo Club Mini Meet at the Syracuse Nationals is in the books. Outstanding weather, a very heavily attended Syracuse Nationals car show (possibly record setting)  great food, plenty of activities to to see and do, new and returning Club members either joining us for the weekend or stopping by for a while as they were passing thru or camping there or joining us for a meal. It was a great weekend.

Our Club has made a very strong presence at that show and it continues to grow. We signed up 1 new member and spoke to over a dozen prospective new members who were present with their Monte’s. The Club members present, definitely got to hone and use all of their “stalking skills” at this show.
I would like to thank everyone that made the time and was able to attend this Club “Mini Meet” event a great success. Everybody pitches in to setup our tents and base camp on the show grounds and helps each other out. We really do look like a well oiled NASCAR pit crew and we received numerous complements from other attendee’s and Syracuse Nationals staff about it. The Syracuse Nationals also likes to use our Monte’s seen in their promotional commercials,  video clips and on their Facebook page. A local news TV network even did a story about the Syracuse Nationals in front of our base camp and row of Monte’s at this show too.

We were even able to wrangle Dave Kindig and Kevdog (from “Bitchin Rides”) away from the Syracuse Nationals management who had an extremely tight schedule for them, to come visit with us at our Club showfield base camp. They were both great guys, down to earth and excited to meet with us. They were both given Club T-shirts and we may even see them being worn in an upcoming episode. They were very surprised to receive the T-shirts and really liked the design and Club logo. They were gracious, willing to take photos and happy to spend some time with the Club members.

Today, I started planning for the 2025 Syracuse Nationals  Mini Meet. I made dinner reservations at a very nice Italian restaurant that we just found, and already contacted the Hampton Inn and Suites Area Sales Manager to start working on the hotel contract for the 2025 Syracuse Nationals Mini Meet. Further info to follow and will be posted as it I receive it.

Again, I thank everyone who attended and would love to see more Club members attend our Eadtern and Western Club Meets and various Mini Meet’s. Each one of them is different and I will eventually attend each of them. Come join us and check them out.

The Italian restaurant was GREAT ! Next year I'll have to skip lunch so I can enjoy the menu more than just a salad 🤣

For those who may not have noticed, there's a bunch of foodies in this group 🤣

All joking aside, Friday and Saturdays dinner picks were top shelf, the food, service and staff were above par IMHO

Not a good mini-meet if you are on a diet!

What is this diet thing  you speak about 😅 I do remember talking about something with some people about having a six pack, I don't have a six pack I have a keg 🤣 definitely not a good weekend to be on a diet.

No worries, DragCat ( Mark) is always looking at  finding these 1st gens. It all depends on how we can spend your money!! . Mine was " Just paint it, put some wheels on it, and drive it ". Complete nut and bolt restore, many upgrades and lots of " snowball" effects. Find something you like. Drive and restore it, or find something ready to drive, it's all good as far as getting one out and back on the road. Smiles per mile is always good.IMG_1438.thumb.jpg.9faf796a7eabcb30e6cd2a9a06bce3d6.jpg
