The other night I was driving home and my dash lights went out. A guy on a motor bike pulled up beside me at the stop light and told me my running lights had also gone out.

I rattled the knob, and everything came back on. But when I hit the next bump in the road, everything went out again.

I've got a new switch, but in all the Bowties I've owned, I've never seen this happen.

Has anyone else ever experienced this ?

Oh yeah, very common reason for that happening. Usually the go to first.

Just picked up a switch for mine because of an issue with the rheostat and my dash lights only. Paid a couple extra bucks for a GM part and still got Taiwan.

If you use AC-Delco replacement parts for your Monte, take a look at the part listing. There are usually 3 parts listed for each item which you can order, and where it was manufactured. Made in China, Mexico or the USA. You have to specify which one you want with different prices depending on where it was made. I found this out when I recently ordered a AC-Delco horn relay.
