7tonemonte Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 I just got off the phone with Earl, a very good friend of Terry Reynolds. (70Iron) Terry passed away on Saturday evening. Terry meant a lot to me and my family, we used to meet up with him for breakfast often years ago but things have gotten busy for us and we hadn’t seen him in a while. I’m sure most here have seen his beautiful cars up at Carlisle and various shows in the past. Terry had been dealing with the loss of his wife years back and a bunch of health issues that were cutting into his enjoyment of his cars and shows. Terry will be sorely missed by all who knew him. A genuine good person with a heart of gold 2 7 Quote

cny first gen 71 Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Sorry to hear, Terry was a great guy we talked at meets in the past he will certainly be missed. I know he meant a lot to you and your family Tony. Quote
Rob Peters Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 I talked with Terry two or three weeks ago on the phone. Terry had told me awhile back that he was planning to come to Carlisle on Saturday but would not be bringing one of his cars. When I talked to him on the phone he had informed me that he would not be able to make it. Everyone loved Terry. He had a wonderful sense of humor and when he would laugh you couldn't help but laugh along with him, I loved that laugh and will always remember that laugh when I think about him. The car Terry brought to Carlisle the most was his beautiful 70 Misty Turquoise with a black vinyl roof. Below is a picture of Terry with that car from one of our meets. rob 13 Quote

I went out to lunch with him one day and he got mad at me for not doing a good enough burnout in that car. He made me stand on it up the road from his house and I didn’t meet his expectations 🤣. Anyone who saw it knows how nice it was. that 427 was so nasty! 5 Quote
Rob Peters Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Here is another picture of Terry. I like this one a little better. I had to resize it to fit on the boards. As beautiful of a car as it is and the fact he could easily take an award plaque almost every year he would either refuse to put our voting placard in his windshield as you see in the below photo or he would write on the club placard 'DO NOT VOTE FOR MY CAR, I DON'T WANT ANY AWARDS'. rob 5 3 Quote
7tonemonte Posted May 31, 2024 Author Posted May 31, 2024 One of our many breakfasts we met “Mr Terry” as he was referred to from my kids. He would bring them coloring books and things to do at breakfast, and always surprised Ant with some form of a hot wheels Monte. here is the link to his Obituary https://www.harkinsfuneralhome.com/memorials/terry-lee-reynolds/5436430/index.php 3 2 Quote

Rob Peters Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 On behalf of the club I sent a sympathy card to Terry's family and donation to a charity that Terry's family suggested from the club. Over the weekend I got the below email from Angela, one of Terry's daughters, and I wanted to share it with you. I have also invited Angela and anyone else in her family to stop by at the club hotel and meet some of Terry's Monte Carlo Family on Thursday. I will keep you posted if they agree to come. "Rob, we received your lovely card today. Thank you! It means so very much! Dad thought the world of you & all his first gen family! We knew he had hoped to meet up with all of you, but knew he probably wouldn’t be up for it. His health had been declining & all took a toll on him! We thank you all for being his wonderful friend! He was a good man! It has been so nice to hear all of the great things his friends are telling us! My sister Terri & I appreciate the donation from the club! Thank you from the deepest parts of our heart & soul! I have put the links here. I hope they take you where you need to go for a donation! Let me know if not. We promise to take care of Dad’s 3 other “children.” We always joked and said he knew his Monte’s birthdays, but got tripped up on our’s! We laughed and said we knew dang well those 3 were his “real kids!” You take care and again, a most sincere thank you for being his friend & for being in Dad’s life! Those cars have him such joy! ❤️ We all miss him terribly! With love, Angela" rob 9 Quote
