I also need a know if you have ( or are going to install) the chrome piece under the headlight. That requires different size holes Quote
Denny Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 no chrome, drivers side,I have one but having trouble lignin it up to the fender and hood ,hoping my fender ext. is tweaked Quote
Denny Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 I wont be needing another fender ext. after all. found my orig. beatup 70 fender ext. fits the same way as the better one I was using. Also installed the bumper valance ,the three bolt holes line up on the pass. side but are about 3/8 " off on the drivers side. I guess I will have to figure out weather I have goofy fender or some thing else going on. Need to devote more time to it. Quote
Rob Peters Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Almost sounds as if you have a 70 fender on one side and a 71/72 fender on the other side. rob 1 Quote
Denny Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 ya the one on the driver side is the one I bought from a person on this sight was claimed to be a nos 70, guess I don't know how to check, I do know its the same as the other were it bolts to the core support, 70 specific.Allmost as if it were a aftermarket fender. Dtret Posted September 4, 2024 Author Posted September 4, 2024 Take a picture of the fender where it bolts to the top of the core support and post it. Take the picture from just above the hood latch to the driver’s side. Quote
Rob Peters Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Here is how to tell them apart. Radiator Support and Fenders With the headlights moved further apart for 1971 this changed the radiator support and fenders for that year. With the movement of the headlights in 1971 the radiator support was changed to accommodate this and also resulted in a change of how the fenders need to be bolted to the radiator support. As a result the 1970 fenders are for one year only. For 1972 the changes to the radiator support were minor to allow the wider grille and new parking light location. There were no changes to the fender for 1972 and will interchange with 1971. 1970 fender and radiator support 3 Quote
