Factory carpet.

I was looking at the carpets in the OPG catalog, and the picture they display (and says factory correct heel pad) had a different looking heel pad design than my current carpet.  I pulled my carpet and it sure seems original. Any thoughts on whether or not this first gen stayed 100% consistent?

Get the part number you want from ACC (auto Custom Carpet), then order it from Rock Auto. Cheaper than anywhere else, including the shipping.

It'll get drop shipped to you from ACC anyways.

They also offer it with 'Mass Backing', which is a thicker underlayment pad. Sits much nicer in the car and is well worth the extra cost. I don't order the carpets without that.

If you need help, list your year, color, etc & we'll help you get the right one.

(FWIW, OPGI is most people's last resort to order from, based on actual experiences with them).

Thanks so much for the tip. Yes not too happy with opg lately. Definitely will acc a look. The good news is the original floor pan looks pristine 😎

That's good news! 

AcC is pretty much the only supplier. Every vendor pretty much takes your order, then ACC delivers it. Don't order direct from them though, you'll pay WAY more than you have to. Their matching floor mats are good too, and usually worth getting at the same time.

still waiting on chrome cleaner and tire cleaner from OPG from last November, ordering anything from them is just like the emoji.

guys, to add to that i have a 72 , factory 454 and factory exhaust , so when i replaced my carpet ,also had the mass backing ordered with the carpet and added sound   deadining on the floor pan ,cant remember what it was but i put the best available at the time ,with the new improvements i can have a conversation with my wife and also hear the radio much better, i would say the interior noise is now cut in half, at least , also before you install new carpet put it out in the sun at  least 4 hours to relax ,before installing,roger

Just got notified today that my back ordered from September rubber floor mats and key blank came in. Because I was a walk in to their Seal Beach showroom to purchase what turned out to be a back ordered item, they don’t charge shipping.

When we redid our interior we put the foil backed insulation on the floor and the new carpet with the mass backing. Before volume on the radio was at 24 on the sound bar so we could hear over the road and car noise.  After the radio is now rn on 9 or 10. We also can talk to each other without screaming.

I prefer a loud, droning exhaust note cuz I can’t drive the car with fingers in both ears when the wife tags along.  I can only steer the car so long with my knee.

Amy and I have been together for over 30 years. All we do is scream at one another 😂

That’s all I’ve ever used. Never even researched other brands.
