Greg Hill Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 I want to raise the back end about 3" What is the best way to do this? New Springs? Any suggestions? Quote
Canuck Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 If your rear springs are the original ones they have likely let the car sag over the years and even just new OEM style springs will bring it up an inch or more and maybe use spacers to get the additional height. I do know some use spacers but not sure how well those work vs getting taller springs. Airbags are another solution. 1 Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 I put cargo coils on mine didn't get up to where I waned it so I put spacers at bottom of the rear springs worked well. Got spacers from another member who wasn't going to use them, gave me a good deal. Cargo coils are cc501 I used Moog on mine. Here's how it sits. 4 Quote
MC1of80 Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Back in the day I used cargo coils for 80s impala wagons. Worked great. 2 Quote
Dtret Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Hey Greg, how about posting a picture of what your car looks like now so we have a better understanding of what you’re dealing with. Thanks 1 Quote
Dtret Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 I just seen your post on Facebook, sagging tired springs do not look to be the issue. As suggested wagon springs, spacers or the not so popular option of air shocks. 1 Quote
MC1of80 Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 This is Big Red with cargo coils and Barn Find with factory coils. 3 Quote
420ponies Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Plus with the cargo coils, ride is nice and you can fill the trunk and no " sag " 4 Quote
