Jeff Dodson Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 (edited) I'm pretty sure these are the brand and control arms the P.O. put on my 72.... I am trying to lift it back up to where it needs to be. I'm thinking about putting Front springs for a BIG BLOCK.... I believe it has lowering springs now or the Lower control arms are the deep spring pockets. Would the BB Springs lift it up to where it should be... its not a BB CAR... Edited June 16, 2024 by Jeff Dodson Auto-correct 2 Quote
Jeff Dodson Posted June 16, 2024 Author Posted June 16, 2024 But the front is mushy, I'd like it up about 1 - 2 inches., real old school hotrod style 1 Quote
Rob Peters Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 In reality, your front is veclose to "Stock" height, maybe an inch low. The rear is a bit high for a "Stock" appearance. I don't think replacing the control arms is necessary to change the front height. Someone here may be able to suggest different springs or shocks to eliminate the mushy ride. rob Quote
420ponies Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Small Block springs from Moog should do the trick (stock 350 W/air). I have the same lowers you show (pocket) but I cut 1 1/2 coils off mine to get the stance I like . Right now with the BBC in it ,I measured from the ground up to the center of the wheel opening is 24 1/2" LOW !! I think my main frame under the car id around 4" of clearance. Mind you I like the lookout changing over to coil-overs soon. I'll send you the MOOG part number. Quote

I already did the rears Quote
Jeff Dodson Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 I guess I never update. I did get the 2 inch taller springs and it put it back up where it's suppose to be... now to get rid of the cheap weak DURALAST FRONT SHOCKS someone put on... Quote
