72-CLASSIC_RIDE Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Says an SS, but highly doubt it. Don't see anything that would identify it as such, but a nice looking car for the price on Facebook Marketplace.. 1970 MONTE CARLO Doug Quote
Canuck Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 It could be an SS but needs more investigation. I didn’t find any evidence that it wasn’t an SS. Quote

I did not see the Air Ride Pump mounting backet bolts on the driver inner fender. No pic's of F41 Suspension although he states boxed lower arms, no under hood lamp shown, no driver adjustable sport mirror, no map lamp as SS examples. Emailed owner & he stated, no engine ID stamping, block likely surfaced at some point & no serial number stamped at oil filter. Owner did not state a SS other than in his AD heading. A nice looking car at a reasonable price, but pretty sure wasn't an SS lest these options had been removed/replaced, which makes even less sense to me. There was one time I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken... Doug Quote
Canuck Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Definitely needs additional photos/info to prove it is an SS. I notice the steering column is black, not blue so that’s consistent with an SS. The tag on the side of the numbers matching transmission could verify it. 1 Quote
DragCat Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 If a TRUE SS price wise good starting point.....quick visual low options interior, looks like "crate motor" valve covers Quote
Chevy Dave Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 An SS would have a rear sway bar. I agree that nothing about this car indicates that it was ever an SS. 1 Quote
