I have a 70 MC & the blower motor does work & when I select the high-speed mode I can tell it is blowing more air. It doesn't blow hard. Is there a different blower motor or some way to increase the airspeed? It is a AC car.

If I remember correctly on high it's direct current,  the lower speeds a fed through blower resister.  Have you replaced resister or checked it. Is it a new blower motor possible defective?

I installed a new Four Seasons blower motor from Rock Auto in my 70 A/C car, because of the same issue. The new motor is also slower than I would like. I also wonder if anyone has found a more powerful motor that will work in our cars?

I tried something like this years ago on my '77 Silverado shortbox..... I replaced the blower motor with one from a Suburban and found it had a better flow.

Maybe switching in one from a Chevelle or Impala Wagon might have the same result ?

A great suggestion, but I researched the part numbers and all Impalas, Chevelles, and Monte Carlo use the same part number. I wonder if the Suburban unit would fit?

"IF" the mounting plate has the same pattern, it should..... I'm not sure if the motors can be switched between plates.

Best to check the width of the fan impellor too. A/C cars use a wider version.

Hey Dave....

I think it'll fit, you just have to use the original fan.

They're easy to swap.

Scott.
