curtish57 Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Take a look at this pic of the passenger side fender and inner fender. How in the heck am I so far off here. The drivers side isn't this bad . Any ideas or place to start? Quote
stangeba Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 I think the steel fender needs to be pushed in way more, at the wheel opening area, and pulled forward some, till it has a ft of door to rear of fender, gap that matches, like till the bolt hole lines up for the plastic inner fender. Is it a new plastic inner fender? Perhaps it was damaged? Quote
Gush's monte Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 When aligning the fenders make sure the car is sitting with weight in the wheels. If it is on jacks or a lift the flex in the frame will through you completely off. It is amazing how much the frame flexes on these cars. 2 Quote

I did fit them while it was on the lift so that maybe one issue I have. Can I realign it after setting with the inner fender still on? Quote

Because like I said the other side lines up really well compared to this side. I'd hate to buy another one and have the same problem. I thought about sourcing some Chevelle steel inners as I heard they fit better. Quote
stangeba Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Where did you purchase the inner plastic fender from? I need a new right one, it's cracked under the battery. CARS Inc is close to me so I could just pick them up but haven't gotten there yet... Quote
jft69z Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Be careful opening the doors when the car is on a lift too. Sometimes the door front edge may rub the fender, chip the paint.... 2 Quote
