RON T Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Received a new show board by UPS yesterday that I ordered while in Carlisle.. Tom SanSoucie of Flash Cars Inc did a superb job !. Car show tomorrow I’ll put it on display with the 71.. I signed up to go hoping it will bring some rain 😂. About a 40 mile trip one way. Usually hundreds of cars.. not looking forward to sitting in the heat all day but the 71 hasn’t been to a local show this year.. We’ll see how she does… 11 Quote

RON T Posted July 28, 2024 Author Posted July 28, 2024 Went to that local show yesterday, Saturday. About 250 classic cars… trucks..The 71 did pretty good in its class. 1970 thru 1984.. came in first place of top 15 in that class… she looked good and strutted her stuff.. got some plugs in for FGMCC and a showboard application too .. 🏆 8 1 Quote

I’ve noticed over the years, most of these shows have gone from trophys to plaques due to the rising cost of supplies. And now , even the nice plaques are becoming a challenge financially.. A local show ‘ Boonesboro Nationals, went from these hugh beautiful plaques to one about 6 inches square last year.. this one the car won yesterday is pretty much home made. It’s pretty tho.. our FGMCC is very fortunate to have such nice awards for its members… 4 Quote

I did notice the homemade award base but the actual display plaque looks professionally done. I do have a question...... Were the vehicles used on each of the plaques the same on each of them. I could not help but notice it appears the car on yours is a 70 Monte Carlo. Did they use the same Monte and Truck on all of the plaques.... rob 2 Quote

Either that or he is also upset that the plaques are getting less and less fancy. Poor chap couldn't muster up a smile for the pic. 4 Quote
