curtish57 Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Hey guys I am trying to figure out a ride height issue I am having. I have a 70 and it is sitting high on the right hand side by about an inch compared to the left. Could this be body mounts or something else? I haven't upgraded anything but the guy I bought it from put air shocks in the rear. They both hold air and I checked with the car up on the lift and they are both even. Any starting place? 1 Quote
Dtret Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 The obvious question first. Same size tires and same air pressure. Sorry. I’m thinking coil springs. 1 Quote

cny first gen 71 Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 I had a woman come into my shop one time with left side sitting lower than right. She was a very large woman and I found both springs on left side broke. I explained it to her and she asked how that could possibly happen, of course I had to be polite and said left side takes more of a beating from normal driving luckily she bought it lol. Possibly a large person used to own the car. 1 3 Quote
curtish57 Posted August 26, 2024 Author Posted August 26, 2024 Lol that is pretty good but no not that I know of. I bought it in 2016 and he said it had sat for about 10 years. He owned it since like 74 and used to pull his horse trailer back in the day. Maybe that? 1 Quote
1970mcss Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 I had a problem with mine when I bought it. I had two different stabilzer links on the front stabilzer bar. I put two new links on the car and it sits pretty level. 1 Quote
Scott S. Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 This is what happens when you park with the right tires on the curb..... 1 Quote
Jason72 Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Measure from the floor to the frame on both sides and front to back. That will tell you if it’s suspension (probably is springs) look at the body mounts while your under there I had a front spring go bad on my car a few years ago. I had already replaced the rears but the rear of the car looked worse than the front. All about weight distribution Quote
MC-71 Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Can I assume you are talking about the back. My Monte was a salter. The body mount in the trunk on the driver side failed and I also found a crack in the frame. Check that area out. 2 Quote
