I have a '70 assembly manual, but not a '71.  I'm asking for someone with a '71 manual to check to see if the part number for the '71 4 speed shifter knob (with a console) is 3992558. It does not have the shift pattern on it because the pattern is on the console. A no console knob has the pattern on it. I believe this is a one year only part, even with Camaros. Thanks for any help.

What pages are you looking at in the Assembly manual for a '70 Dan?

I see in the 70 manual, section D55, sheet A4  (page 534) shows a knob to be part number 3922525, that's under the 'floor console option'.

When I go to the 4-speed transmission section, it shows a 2 piece knob.

In the 1971 book, Section D55, sheet 7A-5, page 499 it shows a knob as part number 3992308.

I googled the 1971 part number, there is a good discussion here about that stuff:

Dan, I also am getting the same number as Joe, 3992308. That would be for a 1971 with console.

Does anyone know of one for sale? I have been looking for a while now. Any leads would be appreciated.

Thank you, Joe! That's exactly what we needed. The '71, 3992308 knob looks the same as the one that the Camaros used, but the numbers aren't the same. I would assume the thread is different.

Vaughn, that must be the number I have in my car. I'll keep an eye out for one for you.
