I am in the process of reassembling my 1972 Monte Carlo. It was a gutted field find. I am trying to sort the wiring out. There is the purple wire in the a/c harness that hooks to blower motor but there is also an orange wire coming out of the engine harness at the fire wall junction that is labeled as heater blower in all the diagrams I find. My orange wire has no connector on it. Would any one be able to help me identify where to connect this? Labeled as BZ in this attachment.image.jpeg.e64309d61d311dafe31ca3e1a884a048.jpeg

Hey Jeramy,

If you look up Paul Bell's " '71 wiring and vacuum schematic" on the site, there may be something that makes sense to you...... I believe '71 & '72 are similar.

I hope someone will double check me on this, but I thought the wiring harness includes the orange wire for non air cars. My orange wire is taped off.  Good luck with your project.

Like Paul said, the orange wire should be clipped and taped from the factory. The A/C harness has a power wire, and there should be a wire coming from the horn relay for the blower relay on the evaporator case, but that may be different for 1972.

Hi Cody,

Montelishi is a "non A/C" car and the orange wire is the one that powers the blower motor..... I've never had a car of this generation with A/C, so I've never dealt with the wiring difference. :)

Scott.
