Unless I missed something, I see no evidence this is a real SS.

Nice looking monte. If it is or should I say was a true SS I hope they kept the original parts. I have a 71 SS clone. If that is the going price for a 71 clone. mine is for sale!

Nice car and I’m not going to pick on it. But I will say, back to me and my restoration vs rebuild, IF it’s a true SS why??   Knowing how rare they actually are. I guess I’d need history. If you’re going to do all that great work why not a regular car.

My sentiments exactly. If it started as a shell, then I get it. It is a beautiful car though. It appears that every tell tale clue that might point to it being real has been removed. Unless they have some docs, it may as well be a restomodded base car with SS monikers. 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

I'm thinking the price reflects what he's got into it rather than true or clone.

IMHO once you start "upgrading" stuff your market changes. I like the Dakota option, but the engine choice killed it for me (not talking about price) just 2 examples.

I was slightly considering the 71 in Orlando, waiting on more info and pic's but checked this am and it's sold. For the price even as a clone with good bones I thought it was a possibility for what I wanted

So, The L1 in the vin just shows what engine was originally in it? I cannot believe they would have took a SS and made into this ,unless it was before they started getting where they are today price wise.

No. L is for Van Nuys and the 1 is the start of the build number. No engine notation in the VIN.
