Thanks for the Photoshop combo.  That looks similar to how I imagined it.

In my opinion, the cars that look the closest to the first generation Monte's are the '69 - '72 Pontiac Gran Prix and the '70 & '71 Ford Torino (both of these cars are on my favorite all-time list as well).  Both of those cars are the extra long front coupled with the shorter, stubby rear.  Neither the Gran Prix SJ or the Ford Torino Cobra were offered with a rear spoiler which typically it was the extra special cars that got those type of add ons.   The only other car besides the Judge, the GTO, the GSX and the Mopar muscle cars of the era that had a rear spoiler was the Boss 302.

 So for you those of you who voted "no", besides the fact that this was never offered on the cars originally, what about this idea do you not like?  Is it the proportions that don't make it fit for you?

Me personally,  not a wing guy. Glen’s photo actually doesn’t look bad. But it’s still a no. Don’t hate me for saying this but I don’t care for the Superbird wing either. In all honesty I’m a bit of a purist so that might be the reason.

Good insights.  This is the place to get to get expert opinions from other first gen Monte's.

It sounds like generally the consensus is that most people just don't like wing/spoilers period so definitely not on the Monte.  That's fair.  Different strokes for different folks.  

I like hood scoops on several of the muscle car makes including the cowl induction on the Chevelle.  However, I don't like the look of it on the Monte.  It is a proportion thing that does not work IMO.  Personal preference.
