Wings on the First Gen's

So I have actually seen a wing on a First Gen Monte. I purchased a body from the owner of this car. He has quite a few personal modifications to this car also. All though I don't think I would add it to my car because I like the original look, I still think it looks sort of cool. I appreciate when someone can make their car into whatever they like!

My 2 cents!   Its your car, do what you like, no one else has to like it, she is yours!!

I am also some what a purist and are not a fan!

All of our Montes are Classy Muscle cars!

LOL   I always have my glasses on. Mark your not being reasonable as i like the green on money but thats about it (maybe).  And yes i am always confused but seem to work out of it somehow someway!!!   lol

It sounds like generally the consensus is that most people just don't like wing/spoilers period so definitely not on the Monte.  That's fair.  Different strokes for different folks.  

I like hood scoops on several of the muscle car makes including the cowl induction on the Chevelle.  However, I don't like the look of it on the Monte.  It is a proportion thing that does not work IMO.  Personal preference.

Speaking of perspective on hood scoops........and disclaimer I am a fan.......when I saw the first pic I thought they chopped the roof 🤣 but the other angles don't bother me as much. I like the length but would have to see it in person regarding the height.

Add a couple inches to the rear coils and you won't even notice it's there....

A bit too much hood. I'd go with a cowl induction hood but no higher.

That’s what I went with on my 88 ( I know not a first gen).

That appears to be the same length and height as the one off hood that we had custom made. I absolutely love the dimensions, to me , it looks very proportionate to the size and length of our extremely long hood.  I also love the way that it tapers back to the windshield. It's definitely not for everyone, however,  it's perfect to me !!

I went with 2 inch height on mine, didn't want any higher. Can still see right side fender just fine.

I watched "Custom Carolina" the other day, the dropped a 700+HP LT4 in an 86 and did some suspension upgrades. At the end of the show they focused more on the horrible repaint IMHO and interior, disappointing

That '88 is a beautiful car.  It looks like a T-top car.

I had a 1985 Buick Regal T-type in black with the grey interior.  Repainted it and rebuilt the V-6 engine.  Great car and fast.  Had to sell to get a more family friendly car.  It was a sweet ride!

Thanks. It is a t-top. Hasn’t been out but once in years. I doubt it still looks the same ( it’s covered). lol.

No worries Willie. Them pics were taken in 2015. lol. That’s why I doubt it still looks the same.
