cny first gen 71 Posted July 20 Posted July 20 This car a friend of ours built years ago then changed the body. It was a woody but not family friendly so put a 4 door body on it. Sold it a few years ago to a local guy. Very well built car. 3 Quote
jft69z Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Everyone is back safe & sound from the Syracuse mini-meet. By all accounts, it was a 100% success. Everyone agreed they had a great time, had a lot of laughs, and some even said they preferred it to Carlisle (though we have NO plans to replace Carlisle as our Eastern/mini-meet location). Even Dennis T. said he'd go back, despite the long ride he had to make to get there (9+ hours?). If we had a 'Hard Luck' award, it would have went to Joe Sullivan with electrical issues that required a 'AAA' flatbed tow to the hotel. From there Seth Primack & Tom Baird (plus a few others) worked hard to get it figured out and repaired (blown up battery, cooked alternator, plus bad ignition module). Not to be excluded, Tom developed a brake fluid leak, but managed to get his car back to the hotel/trailer to be repaired when he got home. As usual, we ate like it was our last meal, and then the deserts to top it off at our favorite ice cream place. I think we converted a bunch of the members to my 'Tangerine Italian Ice' that I wait all year to eat 🙂. Dennis managed to get a Banana Split (big surprise) that looked like a bucket full of goodies. CK, Dennis & I want to thank everyone for making the journey to this show. Each year it gets bigger & bigger with our member's attendance, which is a good sign. We even managed to sign up a few new members, plus get a couple renewed that had lapsed in the past. We're already making plans for next year's show, plus the 'Cavalcade of Cars' event in March like we did earlier this year. The hotel and restaurants are just waiting for the dates & we'll lock in the reservations. There's a lot of pictures, and I'll probably load them in increments. 4 Quote
jft69z Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Dinner at Santangelo's, Saturday night. I think we had 25 people. Apparently, Tom & Del had a touching moment... 4 Quote
jft69z Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Some of the group hanging around the hotel. A few are missing because they went to check out the street action. Crazy the amount of spectators that are lined up along the streets, like it was a parade. That comes with Police helicopters, drones, and pursuit vehicles EVERYWHERE. Dennis with his bucket of Banana Split. 6 1 Quote
420ponies Posted July 21 Posted July 21 As it has been said before, Great Show! I was surprised when I finally made it to the show. To see so many of our members there.I think there is a new record for cars(14?), now that is awesome! . So many people walking by "never seen this many in a row". I let them know about our meet in Carlisle to see even more. Seemed like it went by way tooo fast. So I'm thinking about doing the 3day deal, and maybe stay on Sunday 'til noon.I know a lot of them leave that day, but I could check out what's left, never can see everything that's there. On my way to the show I made a detour to Canandaigua, N.Y. and tried to get this in my car. "I think we need a bigger trunk" (remember "Jaws" "we're gonna need a bigger boat" 8 Quote
FrankOC Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Thanks CK and Joe, it was a great time but was over way too fast. Specials thanks to Dennis for crawling under my car, more then once, to track down 55 year old car problems. Note to self: Check fly before Joe photos, not during. 2 5 Quote

Dtret Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Thanks to everyone for toting me around, in and out of the show ( I didn’t bring a Monte) I got to be a spectator for the most part and WOW what a show. I’ll bet I walked 50 miles and still didn’t get to half of it. I will certainly entertain the thought of going again, though I don’t think I’ll trailer a car that far. It’s a longer drive than Carlisle but much easier ( flatter, no mountains) and also my little crapbox Cruze got either 46.2 or 42.6 mpg. The Fgmcc shows are now done for the year and that makes me sad. 😔 but we always have next year. 8 1 Quote
willie Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Glad everyone is home safe!! Looks like i missed another fantastic show! Sorry i couldn't be there. Missed seeing my friends and meeting the newbies and of course, stirring the pot!!! A record i think Steve said of 14 cars!!! Yeaaa!! Cant wait till next year when we can start all over again. Thanks to ALL the Officers by putting this and the other shows together as we all know its a ton of work!! 8 Quote
jft69z Posted July 21 Posted July 21 I think a couple more cars showed up later in the day, maybe 16 total at our location? There's also a few other members who park in a different location on the site, but always come to spend time with us. 6 Quote

Crusher Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Had a great time as always. I won't miss getting there on Thursday next year. Don't want to miss out on the BBQ joint. Thanks everyone for treating me as if I owned a 1st Gen. But I am good friends with a guy that does. You may know him, he plays with his fly zipper a lot. My goal is to get Dan to put WHITE interior in his car. I think I may have him convinced. 1 4 Quote

It’s almost like a social gathering when we get together. 5 Quote
