Just curious. Did you get Monte specific or Chevelle.

Monte Specific.  They are longer than the Chevelle fenders. They are just plastic and have just settled nit being installed and through shipping. I expected they would be difficult.  It is what it is

I had some holes that were quite a challenge. The weather doing it outside would certainly add another layer of frustration. I think I spent a whole day on the first one when I installed mine. In the end there was one hole in each side that was way off but not in an area anyone sees. Omitting this bolt was also not going to change how it fit or cause any rattles so I left it out.

The battery bracket bolt holes needed to be elongated on my set, just something to look out for as well.

This must have been the brace that went from under the hood hinge and down to right in front of one of the little cubby holes for the body mount. 

 

That and the three fender lip bolts. They are off about 1/2 inch, but the inner fender lip is that short. I do think my fenders are bowed out at the wells. At paint phase, I'll be replacing the front fenders anyway. I could see some, a bit shady, body work....

12 years on parts place monte specific units,  no problems at all...   i would say do it when they are good and warm,and a couple holes may have to be opened up...the large washers cover the holes...  good to go!!

Got 2 sets from them for 2 cars .The fit was very good

But they do need finessing .You must take your time

Man..... just take it slow and don't tighten anything until you all the bolts in. Some you may need to elongate holes.
