riverdogs00 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Good morning group - saw this and wanted to share. No ties to it at all. Not sure if its been shared before or not. https://www.volocars.com/auto-sales/vehicles/18556/1970-chevrolet-monte-carlo-ss-454 1 Quote
Dtret Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Nice looking car. Plenty of questionable things but overall…. 3 Quote
Michael Boyte Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 I would agree, it's a nice ride and a beautiful color. I can't help but notice, the air compressor is missing as is the original air cleaner and complete assembly. That's the first money issues that immediately caught my eye. 3 Quote
mon-tss Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Couple days at a paint shop would help also. Paint bottom of the hood, Black on the rockers, and paint the top trim. 3 Quote
alain boileau Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 🙂 This ss 454 was for sale at BRITISHSPORTSCARS.COM for $36,000.00 usd about 10 or 12 days ago. Nice profit if it sells as they say you snooze you loose🥲 Alain🙂 3 Quote
Canuck Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Here’s my favourite screenshot of their video. 😁 Easy fix but makes me question other parts of the build. Missing a lot of little things in the reassembly (trim above rear bumper, small rubber bumpers, etc) Quote
alain boileau Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 🙂All these minor mistake ad up to time and money. How nice do you want your ss to be? Very nice car but? Alain🙂 Quote
Canuck Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 The car presents very well at first glance. The more I look, though, the more I see missing parts and some things not addressed at all (package tray for example). It’s not a bad car but I expect it to be more complete for that price. Quote
jft69z Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 What's up with that oil pan, pretty hammered (literally it appears). Quote
alain boileau Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 🙂67,998.00 usd big numbers for a car that if you start peeling back the layers you may find more? Alain🙂 1 Quote
Michael Boyte Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 I seriously doubt this car brings anywhere near that kind of money, considering what it would cost to correct the many issues that really stand out. It certainly would be a good candidate for a complete restoration. The earlier sale price 2 weeks ago of $36,000 at BRITISHSPORTSCARS.COM was pretty much dead on . And they still made money 🤑 Quote
alain boileau Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 🙂I agree with you Mike. But we will see what happens with this car. Hopefully nobody gets trip in buying for that price. Alain🙂 1 Quote
420ponies Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 (edited) In my book, what is Real is real.If it's a hodge podge of parts ( Like My Custom Clone) , I feel that it doesn't represent any of the True SS 454Monte Carlo's of the 1st Gen Monte's. I truly dig when you find one " in the rough" and find it is a real SS. I see it does have documents on the SS platform, but missing some common parts. That's why I did what I did to mine. I'll be tickled to own mine, and will always let them know " it's a clone ". It's just a happy 2 bbl, 350 , on the road with a 427 BBC as a heartbeat!!😊 Edited October 23, 2024 by 420ponies Spelling 1 Quote
