Been going real tree for the last several years since kiddo wanted to try one.

I absolutely hate going to get one because it takes longer waiting for the girls to pick out “the perfect one” than it takes me drive to the place and back home with it and then  to drag it in the house and put it in the stand.  That’s where my participation with the Christmas tree ends until it’s time to take it out to the alley in January.  The girls light it, decorate it, tree skirt it, Nativity scene it.

And then, without exception, Mongo always attempts to use the real tree as “indoor plumbing” for the first couple hours (he figures out quickly that gets him in trouble) and the Lab, without exception, has to try and eff with the water in the stand.

Its more of a PITA with each passing year.

Very nice. Totally understandable. On the other

We have been chopping down a Christmas tree since the kids were born. The Grandson (turned 6 this year), gets to use his new kobalt electric chainsaw this year. You gotta start them off right, right? He's used a tree saw since he was 3yrs old. We go get the tree, he decorates with grama, I drink spiked eggnog ( sweet!), set up the train under the tree until Christmas Eve, hide presents everywhere, then forget some on Christmas. Happens every year!!

Growing up could never get us inside!!

Chris that's the way i grew up also. Our big Holidays were always on the eves, So Christmas eve with all my cousins would be outside playing football, baseball or whatever just not to be inside with the adults!!!  Had a great time back then! When diner was ready, we got the call went down and ate the rest of the night, usually into Christmas morning!!!

Decades ago, my uncle decided to do the "real" tree thing.

Living on an acreage, and having his shop on the property, he grabbed his sawsall and strung out 100' of cord.

As there were no defined property lines, and it was heavily forested, he strolled out into the neighbour's yard and picked a nice tree.

After falling it and taking the top 8', he wrapped up the tools, went home and set up the tree.

A few hours later, the neighour showed up, pretty p***ed about the whole thing.

Guess he should have taken the whole thing home..... :k

Hasn't used a real tree since.

Our's was Christmas Day.....

After everyone did the present thing with their kids, we'd all gather at one place, (usually my Mom's....) and do the dinner thing.

40-45 people, 4 generations all in one place.

Kids outside as long as we could, but there was always one who wanted to go inside.

But as we got older, it seemed Dad started spending more time out there.... Took a few years to figure that one out. ;)

Wow, that's the coolest tree that I've ever seen. Definitely would feed the family 😂 I haven't eaten breakfast yet and now I'm craving some cold take home pizza 😋

Joe that tree is pretty cool but i think before you finish eating all that you will not want to see a pizza for a long time!!!!  However that hot (dog) banana, with PB, and J might be a nice change of pace for SOME! lol

Ive done the PB&J on a hotdog and hamburger bun. Gotta go with what's available.

The real question as a grown *** man, can you eat a banana or corn dog any other way than from the side ?

If you peel back the peel/coating really slow, and work your way in one nibble at a time. ;)
