Rob Peters Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 I would like to announce our club’s management changes. First, I would like to thank you all for allowing me to have taken over the office of president almost 5 years ago. It was December 19, 2019 when I was asked to take over the office and then couple years later elected into the position. It has been a great pleasure to have been allowed to serve such an amazing group of people. Much has been accomplished in those 5 years. While I feel I accomplished all of my goals I feel I have done my part and was ready to turn the management of the club to others. There is no way to fully describe how much I have enjoyed working with and for the members of this amazing club and its members. I thank our members for their support these past 5 years. As we all know this is one of the best automobile clubs around and the very best club dedicated to the First Generation Monte Carlo Club and it is our members who make this possible. I have had the pleasure of meeting and becoming very good friends so many amazing people in this club and many friends at our meets. I would like to thank CK Collins for his assistance as the club Vice President over the past 3 years. I thank CK for agreeing to run for the office again. Since CK ran unopposed there was no need to hold a formal vote. It is good to have at least one of our officer returning. I especially want to thank Bob Wiemels for his many years of service to this club. I don’t remember the exact date Bob took over the job of Club Secretary, but I know it is well over 10 years and maybe as many as 15 years or more, and when I talked to Bob today he wasn't exactly sure the exact number of years. Bob and his wife Deanna have always been there to assist me at all of the Eastern Meets and Mini-Meets I have hosted and anything else I asked of him. Thank you Bob and Deann for all you have done for me and the FGMCC. So, our new organizational structure will be as follows: · President: Joe Tedesco · Vice President: CK Collins (Returning as VP) · Secretary: Dennis Tretter I would like to Congratulate and Welcome to our new club officers. On holidays I have always tried to remember to post a message on behalf of all of our officers. Since, after tonight, I will no longer be an officer I wanted to do this tonight so, on behalf of the officers of the First Generation Monte Carlo Club, we wish for you a very Happy Thanksgiving and as long as I have your attention I wish to offer our wishes for a very Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year. If you do not celebrate Christmas I wish for you the Happiest of what ever celebration your religion may have. Thank you again for allowing me to serve as your as your FGMCC President. Rob 13 3 Quote

420ponies Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 All right Rob, if this a goodbye, I'm in tears right now. You've been more then a president and friend forever to me.You invited me into the club way back when, and Bob & Deanna also. That first year I attended we were parked next to each other, remember that? You probably were " on alert" with me around , what can I say.😊 So , who's this Joe Tedesco ? Must be a comedian type. I'm glad that we all agreed that he should take the position. With Joe and Dennis in charge, we should go well into the future with this club, along with the the club members we have. I just can't thank you enough for letting me join this awesome club. I just knew that when I joined this would be my place for my First Gen Monte Carlo !! Congrats to all the new officers! It's going to be a good time my friends! 8 Quote

jft69z Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Thank you all for the well wishes both here & behind the scenes. There have been plenty of offers to help in any way possible, and that is very much appreciated and we'll be taking you up on those offers in the future. In actuality, this has sort of been in the works since Carlisle 2022 when Rob approached me at the meet & said "I need to talk to you about something". I figured great,....he's going to hand me my $25 dues back, say I'm an as*****, and don't ever come back 😁. It sort of went the opposite way though, very unexpectedly, and he mentioned this would be his last term and would I consider running for the position. I said "no way", but I would like to become more involved somehow, such as a Moderator or something to help out here. He made that happen, which quickly advanced to Admin, to do some work behind the scenes on the website, member rosters, groups, etc. So, since then, Rob and CK have been sort of grooming me for the position, sharing all sorts of information, background, procedures, traditions, and guidance to try and keep the club moving in the right direction for the future. Rob has been fantastic with information and document sharing, and included my input on quite a few matters along the way. Moving forward, we intend to pretty much keep going in the direction we already have in place. There is no anticipated change to the yearly dues pricing & the club finances are in pretty good condition. There are a few things in the works, one of those is to try & integrate PayPal and credit card processing right here onto the site itself. We think it will be very beneficial to the existing members to easily process your yearly membership dues, and hopefully make it easier for new members to join up immediately as well. Feedback from everyone so far when the subject is brought up has been favorable. For those that still prefer to pay by check, that is not going to change, and will still be an option, though we hope you'll consider the new options. Another thing we have planned for next year will be a joint car club meet in Fairborn, Ohio with the 'Monte Carlo Club of North America' that Callie Ann runs. They are an all generation Monte Carlo Club (which some of our members here also belong to). Dennis Tretter and I went to it this year to meet Callie Ann, and couldn't have been more impressed with what she has done. She mentioned to me a while back that every year, they pick a generation to showcase at their meet, and next year would be First Gens. I said "Hmmmm....I know some people with First Gens" 🙂, and the idea was hatched. Details will follow in the future, but the dates to save are a week after Carlisle. Been a long couple of days, so I'll stop here, but I would also like to thank everyone for the opportunity to work for all of you, it's an honor & a privilege. Hopefully we can keep moving forward, and maybe even improve a little bit of what is already a fantastic place that we have here now. Thanks Rob, for getting the club to the present state that it is in, and I also look forward to working with C.K. and Dennis T. to continue that journey. Oh, if anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or criticisms, please don't hesitate to contact us, we are definitely open to suggestions to make this club better. Thank you again, Joe T. 8 Quote
Dtret Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Ya. What he⬆️ said. Plus… I personally want to thank the group and administrators for putting their trust in me to do my little part. I have never done anything like this before so it should be a welcome learning opportunity for me. I’m sure I’ll have a few misfires along the way but this great group and admin will help me out. I as well will appreciate any feedback to keep this the best and strongest Monte group in existence. Thank you for the trust you have put forth. Dennis. 9 1 Quote
