It occurred to me that many of you were amused by my dueling hoods post as you can see, 4 hoods are open and I thought I’d share each one’s ailment. ‘58 Cameo king pens and over drive. ‘70 442 Vert. We took out for a test drive and after installing new QJet and smoothing out rear tires, heater core blew! 
‘70 442 coupe rich carb after leak down test rejetting in progress.
‘70 SS Monte new Delco Remy starter made in Detroit (must have been on a Monday morning) solenoid failure.

‘72 K10 exhaust manifold gaskets

’92 Blazer Camshaft replacement 

… and a couple others!

Winter has been extended 12 months. Accepting applications for qualified mechanic helper who will work 4 beer.

p.s. the only one with the hood closed in winter hibernation is my faithful ‘63 Impala SS. Bought it off a classified add in the newspaper 25 years ago last tuneup 20 years. Never fails! Yes I am sick.

Nice bunch of Detroit Iron.  It looks like you have the shop full.

I like your comment "smoothing out the tires"!  Can't have rough tires! 😀

Greetings fellow enthusiasts

Thought it's time to update my fall "Tinkering" post.  Since no "work for beer" applicants applied I and son were left with the tinkering tasks of our crazy fleet.

Top to bottom: '85 shorty.  Father wasn't gifted with son's aviation hands to loosen the alternator bolt that GM engineers built the truck around, this is and always will be a re occurring theme.

The 442 is getting sniff test, rich carb.  That gentleman testing is a well known C1&2 Corvette  FI  expert.  Larry rebuilds units for folks around the country.  His first new car was a '57 FI that started his long history in Chevrolet high performance.  He drove and crewed for a local dealership that owned three Cheetas , one was raced, one was wrecked and one was driven by the dealers wife.  Only 23 were produced to compete with the then new Ford Cobra.

Had to show the original interior of my '63.  As always this reliable sweetheart needed only an oil change and air in the tires.

The '70 Vert, like I already stated had a bad heater core after a performance test drive.  We have had a reoccurring issue with the 455 overheating.  After my son's research, finally found a real solution.  Check out "Cold Case" radiators.  Huge aluminium radiator with two built in electric fans that click on via sensor @190. This hides beneath the factory shroud and after a 200 mile drive worked flawless.

The '58 Cameo needed king pins, MOOG kit was seamless after fighting out the crusty ones.  Before and after with the red neck resto.

The Monte was "all done", LMAO, until I decided the windows were slow as molasses.  Pulled three panels apart and finally got the puzzle back together.  If any one has a black door pull they would be so kind to sell, it would make this challenged member a happy man.

Nice stable of GM horses.  If it has gas and oil, it will need work and maintenance but they are worth it!

Thanks, I love "OLD GM IRON"  Probably have a dozen more if I had room.  I do have a list, where there's a will there's a way, lol.  Peace.
