I owned a '71 350 Monte back in the 80's and always loved it.  Recently purchased a '70 402 Monte from the daughter of the original owner. Its in decent original shape.  Am excited to get working on it over the winter.  Not gonna do a full resto but plan it making it a very nice driver.  Here are a couple pics.

Cant wait to see her up and around!!

Welcome, Dibbs!  All I can say is that I echo the sentiments of everyone before me.  Nice to see you’ve reconnected with a car you love and enjoy.

Welcome to the Club! Looks like a good start on a nice Monte Carlo. You said 2nd owner, that is awesome to find! If you're in need of spending your money, this is a good start. I think I'd drive it for a while first, and then if you wanted you could work on what it needs. I had the snowball effect and it has lasted 20 yrs. Every year it got something done after the 1st restoration (nut and bolt). Now finally is going to be a Custom Clone, with Sniper 2 fuel injection. Lots of $$ spent over the years, now dare I say finished? Maybe, will see what happens next summer.

Looks great

I've done full restos before so we'll see.  I do know the snowball effect but hoping to keep mine mostly original and just refresh things.  We'll probably paint it down the road. Planning on interior work and all the mechanicals.

Yeah, That's what I was going to do at the start, "just put some wheels and tires on it,then maybe paint it down the road"..... look where that got me!!😀😀

Welcome Scott. This is a great forum. I've gotten a lot of helpful info from members. Nice solid looking car. I'm partial to blue. here's my 71 Monte Carlo. I found it only 2 miles from my house.
