I did the AC DELETE, now I want to remove, not cut, the wires.  I'm told just follow the wires through the firewall gromet and there should be a plug to remove the wiring harness.

2nd question,  I am keeping the blower for heat, defog. Is the orange wire that spliced into the purple wire and the ground wire all I need to keep.

I am going to go with Vintage AC at a later date, just don't want to remove wires that may be needed

Sorry I can't help you but I am sure someone here will be able to.

All the wires for the AC go through the firewall. I just need to know if the harness can be removed rather than cut.

Yes, it can be removed.

Ok... with the whole dash out, I got the wiring removed. I'm left with a brown wire coming from the main dash harness and nothing going to the fan speed switch. Where would this brown wire hook up and should I do for the fan speed switch

I looked at the wiring diagram and it shows the 20 BRN wire should be for the headlights. I hope that helps

But it hooked to the AC WIRING HARNESS...  Mine is a 72. Don't know if that makes a difference

It's the feed for the HVAC system.

I put a V-A system in my 72, which originally had factory AC. I got my V-A system as a "package" from March Performance because it included the engine mounting brackets that I wanted. The V-A system comes with its own wiring harness but uses the "O.E. Brown (heater/AC) wire" from the fuse box to active -but not power- the V-A system when the ignition is in "Run Mode".  Suggest you do your research on the V-A unit you're going to select and get their instructions ...they WILL be most helpful to you. Also of note, V-A have units for A.C. or Non-AC cars, as the "cut-out" in the fire wall is different. Planning is everything! Hope this helps.

Thank you, that's exactly what I needed. I will be replacing the harness. That's exactly what I needed.
