Merry Christmas to all. I’ve been getting mixed responses and I’m hoping for a definite answer. I have a 1970 Monte Carlo. I’d like to put my 15x8 4” offset rally wheels on. The front tires are 215/70/15 and the rears are 255/60/15. Will these go right on without any clearance issues? I have stock suspension

Merry Christmas to you as well, Tyler. :)

I'm using the same wheel/tire on the back of my '70, and they've got clearance, but I'm boosting the springs just to level the car out.

Unfortunately I'm using the 7" wheel on the front with 225/60's, so I can't tell if there's any issues there presonally.

But most members seem to have no issues.

Scott.

I have a set of those Vette rallys (15x8 with 4” backspacing) with 245/60 tires on all 4. I have mounted them on three different first gen Montes and all of them had a clearance issue on one side or the other in the rear. I have heard if you have a Monte with a perfectly centred rear end you may be able to have just enough clearance with Vette rallys and 245 tires.

I had to bend the lip on the quarter a little for clearance. A friend of mine locally had to do the same for his 1971 Monte with 245 tires on Vette rallys.

Ok, thanks again Aaron. I appreciate the elaboration. I’m now convinced that this setup will not work for me. If you had problems with 245’s then these 255’s definitely won’t work.
