DragCat Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Is the new cable a different length than the old? I don't have pics of mine sorry 1 Quote
FrankOC Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Any chance you were given the cable for an mc with a th400? It’s a shorter cable due to the crossmember sitting further back. 2 Quote

Ahh Hah, Now I know why my cable is too long (adjusted all the way up) !! I installed the turbo 400 (previous 350 & 2004r ), which means the crossmember moved more to the rear axle, making the attach point shorter. Who knew!! Never thought they would make the cable different lengths. Thank You Frank! I'm in hot pursuit of a correct cable. 4 Quote
flyin brian Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 I checked the specs on the length and it said 90 9/16" which is what I have. double checked part number for 350Th 2 Quote
flyin brian Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 I think I will have to engineer something because of the custom crossmember. IDK for sure but the only images I can find are anchored on the cross member but it is way up there towards the front. 3 Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Sounds like the custom cross member may be the problem. Any time you modify something from stock it usually requires a couple other things to be modified. 4 Quote
flyin brian Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 I think I got it figured out, if it was on the cross member originally it would have to have a long s hook, I found 3 points of anchor that will work, I just have to put something on the cable where it rubs on the floorboard, shrink tube maybe. thanks for the replys. 5 Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 If I remember correctly they were right up against the floor anyhow, should be fine. 4 Quote
Scott S. Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I'm thinking Brian got it right about the aftermarket cross member causing problems.... I didn't have any issues with the cable when I moved the factory cross member back 6" for my 200R4, and Brian mentioned he'd had one in as well. 1 Quote

McMaster Carr has some 4 to 1 shrink tubing that I used on my emergency brake cables by the floor pans. 4 Quote
