My journey has begun. It kills me that I traded it in for a 75 Vega.

You might have to settle for a 402. You will be very lucky to find either. I purchased a 1970 402, 350 hp, Chevelle SS new, it was a great car.

I hope you find it. When you do, be prepared for a high cost to buy it. Good luck with your search. 🙂

I know you said you didn’t want any projects but is it important that you get a real 4 speed car or would a conversion be acceptable? That would  give you a much better selection of colors and interior choices  (buckets or bench). I would think it would be less than a real one in equal condition even if you had someone do the conversion for you. There are other members much wiser than I that will hopefully have more input on this subject.

There have only been a few threads (that I can remember) on our Forums relating to SBC 4-speed Montes.  You might check out the following thread to see if any current/prior 4-speed owners can give you any leads:

Also, one of our members with the club name of "Murphy" shared several of his findings when he converted his SBC '71 to an M20 4-speed back in 2019, I believe.  If you go to the Search function under Resources (not the search bar on the page) and select Members, then you can find Murphy and ask to see his posts.  I haven't seen him post in quite awhile so I don't know if he is still and active member or if he still has his converted '71.  Good luck.

You’re about one month late. There was one for sale on eBay 1970 350 4 speed, bench seat ended up selling for $20,000 and I’m sure that’s not gonna make you feel very good.

Mine was a bench seat. Had posi. Had the tach. That car had amazing power. I did trade it into a dealer. The dealer is still around. Is there a way to track it down?

Do you have the vin? May be able to track it that way.

No. This was 1976. Maybe I can go to the dealer.

Worth a shot. I contacted the original seĺing dealer of my car but they didn't keep records back that far. The girl I talk to said omg that's before I was born 😆 they have since then gone out of business.
