I watched a first gen video the other day and I was surprised to see power windows for all four windows.  This was the first car that I have seen that option on.

For those of you on this forum with more experience, what percentage of first gens do you think had power windows?

Chevellestuff.net has some numbers of options/quantity installed. The only year they broke down the Monte separately was 1970 though. Still, they give a percentage, so a rough guess can be made I suppose. Possible more Montes than Chevelle's had the power windows, by nature of the car itself.

I have seen one that only the doors were powered but the owner added those as it came without powered winders

My 70 also has all 4, but my knowledge isn't up to par with most so I try not to assume

All the cars that i have that have electric windows, all have all 4 windows with switches.  Don't ask me if they all work, that's a different story!!!!  lol

Like Larry stated if a PO installed them later i can see only the fronts being done, not the rears.

I think it's pretty safe to assume that if the car has factory power windows, all four will be power. That's all I've ever seen.

I installed both factory power windows and factory power door locks salvaged from a '72 into my '70.  It takes a bit of work but is certainly doable.  One minor difference is that the '70 switch frames have rounded corners while the '71 and '72 frames have square corners. I later added keyless entry to the door locks but that did not change their manual operation.

Very interesting.  When I saw it, I was thinking "really unusual but why not"!  Other cars have them and why wouldn't the Monte since it is a personal luxury car?  It had just never crossed my mind before.

I will certainly pay attention from now on when I see these Monte's to see if I can spot one of the "4 percenters"!  Kudos to those owners on this forum with one.
