Monte_72 Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Anyone have a floor shift with tilt steering column you’d consider parting with? Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted April 8 Posted April 8 I have a column shift one but not floor shift. I still haven't put it in my car yet had it for a few years. 2 Quote
willie Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Ben if Dennis doesn't have it check in the resourses section on the top right and look for Leo or Steve Demmers they might have both pieces for you!!! 2 Quote
Dtret Posted April 9 Posted April 9 That’s the second most sought after column. 4 speed tilt is first. 2 Quote
Chevy Dave Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Be careful buying a used column that has not been rebuilt. Last summer I had to send my tilt, floor shift column to California to be rebuilt and it cost over $700 for parts, labor and shipping. The issue was the key would not engage the ignition switch because of a bad rack and gear. 2 Quote

420ponies Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I've had my tilt apart 3 times, tell me about it. But, someone on here(MCFan?), posted a very detailed repair sheet on it. Just followed along and it was fixed. Does anyone remember what happened at the gas station ,when I filled up and was ready to come to Syracuse for the National's and the park lock broke and I couldn't turn the key? It locked everything out. Hopefully it's fixed for another 46 yrs!! 2 Quote
Montemedic Posted April 9 Posted April 9 And I still kid you about not making the Syracuse Nationals that year. Definitely an original excuse !!! 2 Quote
stangeba Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Tilt was one of the best things I changed on my (still Column shift) 71 Monte. I thought someday I would add bucket seats, found a pair but never did the change. I think I have an extra Column shift TILT assembly in the basement. I did have a bad WOBBLE in my tilt steering wheel and did repair it a few years ago. 2 Quote
