TheBMan Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Decent condition and rare if legit. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-chevrolet-monte-carlo-32/ 2 Quote
Michael Boyte Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Was the 10 bolt standard for the 402 /4 speed ? I would have thought being a High performance Big block and a 4 speed, that would have commanded the beefer 12 bolt posi as standard for that setup. 1 Quote
willie Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Bryan tkx for posting! What a great car, She is beautiful!! Mike i would agree!! Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Don't think I've ever seen curb feelers on a Monte. I would think 12 bolt would have been standard also. Looks pretty in the pictures have to see in person to really tell. Quote
DragCat Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Nice looking Monte, little concern on the bubbling paint comment. There seems to be some back and forth in the comments section about the car being listed 8 years ago with a build sheet but none pictured now. That would be a shame if it was lost. Quote

Micheal (Mr. Boyte), If my eyes deceive me, it has a 12bolt. 2 Quote
420ponies Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Boy, That sure looks good for a 4spd car. I like how the engine bay has the correct? clamps on the hoses, correct air cleaner too. I thought someone on here was looking for a 4spd car? I'd be after this one for sure!.........no room in the garage , I need to build that other building I guess. 3 Quote
FrankOC Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I see a 12 bolt in the pics. Is that a stock fan shroud? I don't think I've seen one like that before. 1 Quote
Scott S. Posted April 9 Posted April 9 The ad states that the present owner hasn't had it very long. Makes one curious as to why it's already for sale with such a low opening bid. Quote

Marks71 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Lots of photos was a good thing. Would definitely need to see it, mainly due to the bubbling paint. Could be a high dollar fix, which is too bad because the rest of it looks to be really nice. Are those bumper guards in the right location? But its rarity could help it offset these issues. I’m familiar with the area. You might want to hire Glen and Mongo as chaperones. 2 Quote

Poor Gas Monkey will be disappointed in me!!! LOL 2 Quote
Glen Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Compton? Better scour this whip for traps containing dope and guns possibly forgotten about by the seller. And curb feelers? 🤢🤮. At least they didn’t lower it and put hydraulics and airbags on it. 1 Quote

Dennis, thanks but a lot of things would have bothered me at the price it went for such as the bubbling paint and where they painted over the pitting around the rear vinyl trim. The trunk looks pretty clean rust wise. I also don't like how the rear bumper guards are not mounted properly... They should be inside the back-up light lens, not ported outside of the backup lights. At first I couldn't put my finger on what didn't look right and then it dawned on me. rob 1 Quote

The trunk appeared to have a small patch but was really hard to tell in the picture. I just could not swing getting to cali before the auction ended. Quote
Jared Richey Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Definitely needs a strip and repaint to be a top level car theres always more hiding Quote
