I’m really liking the ride height… what are you using for springs and shocks? Thanks… Rear springs are Moog 5379 and fronts are 6330. Both stock replacement springs for a big bloc. If I were doing it over I’d use the heavier El Camino rear springs for just a bit more height in the rear. My rear tires are 275/60/15 so they are 28”. tall and they don’t rub at all. I’m running Bilstein front shocks and adjustable Viking in the rear. 3 1 Quote

Just installed a set of 5379's I got from 420ponies, and although they did add a lot of firmness, which was what I was looking for. But even with a 1" spacer added, I only gained about 3/4". I'm running a P255r60/15", 27" tall. 4 Quote

Robnhood Posted April 25 Posted April 25 These are the wheels that were originally on my monte when I got it. I liked them, but I really don't think they work on a monte. They were also rusted and pitted. I gave them to a friend of mine for his rat rod. I upgraded to these and finallly settled on these I have better rings on the car now, but I don't have a picture. I am a big fan of how it looks with the derby caps. Although the 3 spoke caps look cool too. 3 Quote

I tend to think in the terms of gentlemen's muscle car. Not knocking if you have them, just isn't for me. 3 Quote

Let me know if you would be interested and I will help get your set up and get your Monte registered with Carlisle Events. As of right now I have 42 members registered with me to attend. It is a great way to meet a large number of our members and a large number of Monte's all in the same place. (BTW, members even show up without their Monte if their Monte's are not able to attend.) rob 3 Quote

RON T Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I had the choice of either when I bought my 71 , but I chose the derby. I rotate between the rally wheels with derby caps and the Black chrome American racer 5 spoke.. 3 Quote

Dtret Posted April 26 Posted April 26 When I bought the 72 Custom it came with 15x6 Cragers for the front and 15x7 Cragers for the rear. Every spring the PO would dismount the rear tires and put them on the Cragers and the front had tires , being the small size ready to go. In the fall he’d change back to the Po2’s. It was a 4 season car. It I can find a nice set of tires cheap ( lol). I may do the switch once in a while. Not a big fan of any hubcaps, they make the cars look old ( no offense, my opinion). 2 Quote

Whatever the stickers are on the windshield and 1/4 glass I am sure add extra horsepower. 👍 rob 1 Quote
RON T Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I wonder if they make this for a first generation Monte?. Cool :)😎 😅 1 1 1 Quote

I’ve tried both in this area and always come in first or second only by changing the wheels 🛞 to chrome.. I’m not sure about other areas of the country however.. 3 Quote

I used to like the Crager wheels until I watched a buddy spin the centers out while doing a burnout..... NOT a pretty sight. 1 Quote
