Traveler Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I have posted earlier that I have purchased a pair of CTS bucket seats finally worked out the wiring so now I’m going to try to fit in place of the stock bench seat. Has anyone done something similar? I have made a laughable drawing of the rails. Any advice would be appreciated; things to look out for, is there hard spots better to bolt them to… Quote
Scott S. Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Hey Joseph, My first question is are the rails narrow enough to fit between the existing holes and the tunnel ?? I realize you're going to have to add holes somewhere along the tunnel to anchor the inside legs anyways. Large fender washers or 2"x 2" metal plates with a hole in them is recommended for structural stability. Just a thought as to the existing holes, when I bought Montelishi, I'd just had my knees done, so I needed more leg room. What I built was a flat metal piece with two holes..... One I fasten to the existing hole, and the other to have a relocated bolt to attach the seat to. Gave me 2 1/2" more leg room, but if you need to shift to the side, I don't see why it wouldn't help it that way. Just an idea, I'm sure there may be a better option that still uses the original holes. Added a picture to give you an idea of what I did. Good luck, Scott. 1 Quote
420ponies Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Would/could you use the bucket seat brackets they sell for the bucket seat install? They are a weld in floor bracket. Lutty's has them. 1 Quote

Lutty's has them. You have to make sure they work with the cts bucket frames. Might be easier to go to Cadillac and get the correct mounts for the seats and weld those in. 1 Quote
