Since I am new here, I thought I would throw this out for the group's opinion.  I have all my vehicles with tinted windows.  Should I do my FGMC?  Or is that forbidden?  Just a thought to see what the ideas are.  Thank you.

My windows were tinted when I got mine, I didn't really like it but left it on until I got a ticket for it then I took the tint off. I Don't miss it at all.

I’m with Mark on that one. If that’s what you want, go for it. It’s something that won’t hurt value, plus it’s easily reversible.

I agree do what you want. But remember if your car came with air conditioning the windows are “ tinted”

I subscribe to what the masses say:  your car, do with it what makes you happy.

That said:  I would NOT tint my Montes past factory AC-standard tinted glass. However. I did just have the front door glass done on my Durango. Didn’t go stupid dark, just enough to match the 25% factory tint of the rear glass. But since it’s gonna be my daily driver it’s both practical AND aesthetically pleasing 😉

Oh yeah… once broken in, it’ll also be my “tow vehicle” so I don’t have to borrow Thor annually…

I have a good friend who will not use a Durango, Tahoe or Explorer to tow anything. He towed his boat with his Tahoe and liked to have lost it. The shorter wheelbase is not that conducive to towing anything heavy.

Larry i agree with you about the shorter wheel base might be a tad harder to tow. Glen it can be done and because you towed with Thor you have a base to start with. Just be careful and don't let your guard down. After your first tow you can decide if was ok or not!

I appreciate the concern and advice as I’m a newbie to this. Since this is going to be my daily driver, I opted for something that will be fun all the time, but also has the capability to tow should I decide to use it for that. It will also be my first vehicle with AWD, so no more putting winter tires on Vicky (Amy will have to figure that out from now on🤣😂)

To that end, my only “must have” when I spent the five or six weeks hunting for this was that it came equipped with the factory tow package.  And that it does, good for 8700 pounds, trailer brake, class IV hitch, stability control, 7 & 4 pin harness etc. Time will tell how it feels; pulling the Monte last year was the first time I’ve towed anything, so I have next to zero experience for comparison purposes.

I won’t have it broken in yet this year to tow, so I likely won’t attempt to pull anything for a while. Not to mention, I can’t see it being used to tow regularly. And in the event, it turns out to be just horrendous? I’ll pick up a used truck once we land in the forever home.

Time will tell and I’ll keep you posted…

Now you just created a dilemma… I don’t have money for rims AND that snazzy wrap.  I guess it’s going to be a coin toss…

I never cared for towing in the suburban, side mirrors to small IMHO and look in the rear view and all I saw was Monte grille 🤣I imagine its even closer in a Durango/Tahooo (yes I spelled it like that on purpose)

I'm sure Glen will have the pucker factor on the maiden voyage 🤣 But like everything else with this group there is alot of experience to be shared free for the asking 🤘
