Tonka Man Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Excuse my ignorance, but how does a car rust the flat surfaces like that? Was vegetation sitting on it? I would not think just rain would do that?? I'm from the dry desert in Wyoming so our sheet metal generally does not rush much, but the interiors take a beating if we leave them out in the sun and don't cover the windows. Quote

The car was from down by the gulf coast. The salt in the air from the ocean just sits on top the car. That’s why they rust from the top down. The underside of the car is usually pretty good.
