I saw a video on LinkedIn of a tool that removes rust with a laser.  Has anyone every seen this done on automotive sheet metal?  Would it work without heating up the steel so much that it warps?

I checked out the cost of those machines and the cheapest I could find for a new one was $4,600!

This seems like it would be a great automotive restoration tool.  Thoughts and comments???

I'd think that the heat from the laser would corrupt the integrity of the metal.... Just a thought. ;)

I’ve seen the videos. If you look at them close all the rust is a moisture based surface rust. I’ve never seen one that went after real rust.
