So i'm replacing my carb and need to install a spacer look at the moron that put this carb on did i hope I can get this off with pb. Blaster and be able to put the new studs in with no problem. It's pretty scary.I do not want to buy a new manifold

Jay,

That area shouldn't cause any leakage issues.

To be on the safe side, clean up that area where the small cracks are, and get some JB Weld and fill them in and let it setup before reinstalling everything, and then just snug up the stud nut with moderate tightness.

I agree with what Doug posted. The cracks don’t go that far into the manifold. You should be ok. Just don’t over tighten the studs like the po did.

also, if you are getting a new carb, make sure it has a manifold vacuum port and skip the spacer.

Im runnin dist off of minifold just tryin see diff and installed spacer. Havnt timed yet but runnin real nice i gonna post 3 diff deals with pics bout this lil build

I did that that stud turned when tightened carb up 3rd time but doesent seem to be any vacumn leaks i think ill pull carb and put a scooch of thread lock on er..just to be safe

Great idea im gonna do that. Gotta pull carb again anyway cause studs turning ugg wasnt when installed now afrer warmed up and set a lil i was gonna put a lil thread lock on it as well

This thread reminds me of when I fuel injected my 1942 International Pickup. 

It has a Chevrolet 350 in it, and it took me 3 hours to remove the distributor, which I broke in 3 pieces.

Uggg...what concerns me a lil is im pulling motor out a scooch and i didnt wanna jack and use 2 by 4s fig id use a hoist but with that crack was worried bout stressing ..so now im torn betwixt the 2 ways..

Unfortunately, it is kind of shy at the moment and is still a workin in progress.  I haven't been very motivated to work on it.  Long story.

Me too.  We bought it specifically for this truck.

Everything is connected back to the frame for ground, and I used waterproof connectors so I can disconnect/reconnect things

It is a holley sniper EFI throttle body.
