72 Monte Carlo Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Jay, That area shouldn't cause any leakage issues. To be on the safe side, clean up that area where the small cracks are, and get some JB Weld and fill them in and let it setup before reinstalling everything, and then just snug up the stud nut with moderate tightness. 1 Quote
Dtret Posted May 29 Posted May 29 I agree with what Doug posted. The cracks don’t go that far into the manifold. You should be ok. Just don’t over tighten the studs like the po did. 3 Quote

I did that that stud turned when tightened carb up 3rd time but doesent seem to be any vacumn leaks i think ill pull carb and put a scooch of thread lock on er..just to be safe 1 Quote

Great idea im gonna do that. Gotta pull carb again anyway cause studs turning ugg wasnt when installed now afrer warmed up and set a lil i was gonna put a lil thread lock on it as well 1 Quote

Uggg...what concerns me a lil is im pulling motor out a scooch and i didnt wanna jack and use 2 by 4s fig id use a hoist but with that crack was worried bout stressing ..so now im torn betwixt the 2 ways..
