Well summit just delivered oil pan and pickup...straighten ramps out and here we go!

Received moroso pickup. It has 2 areas that looks like it needs to be bolted as far as i know the almost stock one doesnt resemble this at all..been a while summit said the oil pan would work on 72 monte and dude recomnended this very pickup. I havent got pan off yet but is there somethin im missing...i think whats throwin me off is the bolt plate

So got everything perfectly safe...have distributer cap off engine unbolted..rear tranny unbolted from frame. No fan or shroud replacing balancer when comes in to 8in...i cant get darn thing to lift without car...if i have some lift on it i can get a pry bar just to see if motir will budge and it will from side to side a scooch no prob...what im i missing here. See pics

Headers hitting the frame?

is the back of the engine hitting the firewall?

Thinkin maybe 2 harden bolts should sit on that frame mount be enough hopefilully be able to Pull pan im tired need a beer

I'm assuming you've got the inspection pan off at the fly wheel, and if you remove the starter, you should be able to wiggle the pan out.

And block the heck out of the motor mounts....

I might just run 2 by 4 across the fender supports inside of course.. and ratchet strap. It aint that much weight ..moroso oil pan goin in

Cause i got trans supported also

Like I mentioned, removing the starter and inspection plate should give you more room to work as well.

Just a thought, but the radiator hose might be causing a bit of binding too....

No its on fire wall worried may have hit trans fill but i didnt force er...yeah for sure cover and starter gonna come off. Gonna re wrap wires cause of header anyway.   So funny started off with a carb swap. Lol...now .oil pan ..balancer..adjusting valves...replacing rear main and valve gaskets. And now motor mount. Lol

Might as well change trans screen and gasket.

All good im thinkin. Needed a break today ill hit it tommorow and well see if cant get that pan off...if yu see the rigging so far. Im sure itll support from front fender supports

You should be able to pick up the motor mounts ( yes do both) at any local parts store.

Maybe some 2x2's in the motor mounds as well.

Just short chunks that'll fit between the pads.

Again man im thinkin across from each fender support on body. Its not that much weigth cause trans is supported...ill send pics maybe lil hillbillyish i dont judge. Lol

Yeah its ending up that way she sat for 1 than 2 yrs than 1  ish sooo everything. ..now i have space its happenin. And as 420 ponies says rupp rupp get er done

So what if i do this and ratchet strap both sides by front head bolts to hold plus trans is supported on jack
