Deni2nd Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I have a 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo. I am replacing the control arm, bushings, tie, rod ends, etc.. I removed the front coil springs there height is close to 18 inches when sitting on the garage floor. I’m trying to choose a replacement spring. When I took the springs off, I found that one of the springs looked as if it was bent so my question is if I don’t have build sheet how can I tell what size spring belongs there? I also noticed on this assembly that one spring was installed upside down so I’m just at a loss at this point. What direction do I go in? Hoping one of you guys can help 1 Quote
Scott S. Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Just now, Scott S. said: Tighter coil spacing goes up. The coil size will depend on the engine you have. I've usually just used Parts Place's listings for parts like that..... They're pretty good at which part you'll need. Assuming that you're looking to do a stock restoration. 1 Quote

Dtret Posted June 2 Posted June 2 There are a bunch, and I mean a bunch, of topics on here about coil springs. Height charts and very good comparison and part numbers of which ever you want. Do a little searching in this section and you’ll find them. Or someone will post answers. 4 Quote
klassic rob Posted June 2 Posted June 2 correct depending on the type of engine makes a huge difference, want to make sure you choose correctly. if your basically replacing the entire front suspension look at coil overs from Alden american, great product easy installation, little pricey but well worth, you will notice a huge difference in the ride. anyway good luck. 2 Quote
