Rob Peters Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Many of you who have been to any of our Eastern Meets in Carlisle know for years we have been able to decorate our club canopy with all sorts of things. For so many years one of our members, Willie Conforti has supplied us with one or two Knights. These knights have been decorated in many ways. They have worn a club jacket, they have had cigarettes hanging from under their helmet, they have worn a speedo and been used as a prop for many members and spectators to get their picture taken with. These Knights have helped us win at least two "Coolest Club Hang-Out" Awards from Carlisle Events. I know member Joe Sullivan has a Knight he displays with his car and I know of at least one other member has one to display with their car. Today Patsy and I took club supplies to the club hotel to drop off for the meet this week. I had told Patsy about this little place along US 11 that Alli Di goes every year to buy metal yard/house sculptures and she wanted to see this shop. I had only seen the place from the road and never stopped so today we stopped to check it out. I am now the proud owner of my own Knight, pictured below that I will also display with my Monte. He is about 3 feet tall. We both got a picture with a plastic cow they had there and I couldn't help my self and had to try to milk the cow. From the outside of this place all you see is a fenced in area with the metal sculptures inside the fence but when you go into the business you find it is a room after room of all sorts of antique and specialty items. I highly recommend members visit this place this coming week when they arrive on Wednesday or Thursday. Here are some photo's with the cow: rob 11 Quote

willie Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Thanks for the shout out Rob!! Yes i usually bring my Knights (Sir Monte, and Sir Carlo) up to Carlisle every year for the club to have a better chance to win the "Coolest Club" Award!! Unfortunately i cant make it this year, due to a death in the Family. On a Good note our VP, Ck will be bringing them up being i cant make it. This way we have a shot at that award!!! Rob that place on RT11 has tons of fantastic antiques. I stopped in there one year and asked if they could actually bring a Knight or two to the show every year, (for a fee i would of been happy to pay) so i didnt have to truck mine up, as i dont want them damaged. They declined and didnt want to be held to an every year thing. Still they were very nice people. I have seen pics of your truck when going to Carlisle in advance, where are you going to put that Knight????? lol LOL on milking that cow, however it is pretty cool!!! That dinosaur in the background if i remember correctly is "DINO" from the Esso gas stations! Also pretty cool!!!! 4 Quote

Yes Willie, I have passed this place so many times over the years and never gone inside. You are right, inside the building there is so much stuff, antiques and collectables. There is something for everyone in there. It is kind of funny, it looks like such a small place across the front but once you get inside you couldn't believe how large the place is. Once inside you realize it keeps going back and back even farther like they just kept adding on and adding on again as their inventory grew. American Pickers would love this place. rob 2 Quote

Rob Peters Posted June 14 Author Posted June 14 No, the Amish don't do full beards, only the side and chin 2 Quote

Scott S. Posted July 14 Posted July 14 She may not be wearing all the heavy armour, but her backstory is that of a "post apocalyptic" hero. AND she's colour matched. 2 Quote
