Nope, the cowl tag and vin are Jan '70.

The dealership bill of sale is Oct.

Maybe she sad unloved on the lot for awhile ??

Oops. I misunderstood. I read that as the cowl tag said oct 70. Sorry. Yes it’s very possible that the car was sold in October.

Would have been a good deal as the '71's were already rolling out. ;)

My original 70 Monte I purchased new in early September of 1970, one week before the 71's were released.  The dealer had several in stock.  It is very possible some dealers still had some 70's in stock into October.

My Van Nuys assembled SS was made in January 1970 and it has the flat rear bumper brackets with the rubber piece at the ends. I've had several '70s that way. The '71s I've had had the round brackets.

That’s great can you confirm the rubber piece  goes between the bracket and the bumper that’s what I believe can’t imagine it goes between the bracket and the body but maybe

It goes between the bracket and the bumper. The rubber piece for the center bracket is the same way. I've never pulled one off any of the 3 years that didn't have it.
