What is always said “ everything looks better in pictures ( except me lol). Don’t let the pictures fool you, I can’t find anything when I need it. 🤪

Get yourself a label maker and label the shelves. I had to do that because I would buy tools that I already had and couldn't find them when I needed them.

I need to get rid of a bunch of tools. The only way I buy any more is if I break something.

I'm organized once a year, then its just a staging area for the next set of projects 🤣 And I'm pretty good at finding what I need, unless its important and I put it in a special place, then its 2 days minimum 🤣

You know me, if I can't find it, go buy another. Then 2 weeks later I find it. Now I have 2 of everything. Glad my son likes what I buy !!

Nice toolbox, but I wouldn't spend that much on a toolbox.  I suspect 1/2 of what you are buying is the name.

Hopefully a lot. Problem is you probably have a lot of older tools ( like I do) that the new generation won’t even know what they are.

So very true. I am no master mechanic.  I still have most of the tools I used when restoring my 1929 Model A Ford back in 1966.

When I was in the Air Force I had a government issued tool box because I was a Crew Chief on a KC135.  It was well equipped with some nice and some average tools.  It was on my assigned plane and was stolen.  They issued me another on with not as nice tools but they were newer than my original.  A few months later my original toolbox was recovered and the MP's returned it to me.  I tried to return it to "Supply" but they told me most of the tools in the box were old, no longer stocked and they had switched to newer and different manufacturer's and told me to just keep it.  I still have many of those tools too, many very old nice Name Brand stuff.  My son started looking up some of the numbers on those tools and found numbers on some of the Snap-On tools indicated they were made for the US Government.

I do have some tools that I rarely use and knew that when I bought them and for tools like that I am of the mind if I will not be using a tool on a regular basis I am not opposed to buying Harbor Freight stuff.  I have a number of things like that but my frequently used tools I will pay more to get the quality I desire.

In all of these years I have never needed to do an exchange on any of these tools and rarely any of my other tools.  For most of my ratchets, I take them apart, clean and lubricate them.  Over the years I have had to have a few screwdrivers replaced under warranty and a few sockets.
