Mark M Posted August 7 Posted August 7 In June I had a local shop replace my front suspension. Tie rods , ball joints , pitman arm etc. on Saturday my steering seemed all over the board and scary to drive. Noticed there was no cotter pin going through the pitman arm and the castle nut was on its last thread. Here are a couple photos. Does the pitman arm look right. There is no rubber boot like the other moving parts have. Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Seems like mine had some kind of washer in there, possibly felt maybe I don't really remember but I could look tomorrow. I'd be sure to check all the nuts to make sure they all got tightened correctly. Quote
Mark M Posted August 7 Author Posted August 7 All castle nuts and cotter pins are in place. Might have another shop inspect it to be safe. 1 Quote
Dtret Posted August 7 Posted August 7 It’s a greasable joint, it should have a boot, castle nut should have a cotton pin. That looks like a Moog arm. Should be lifetime warranty. The big nut on the bottom, no. Quote
Mark M Posted August 7 Author Posted August 7 Thank you. When I get home tomorrow I am going to have it inspected by a different shop then who installed suspension 2 Quote
