So i have this American Autowire kit which i started assembling, and got pretty far into it, and am now wondering where the wires are to hookup the factory heater. Can someone confirm that I'm out of luck? Customizing the harness is not an option, i have enough on my plate as it is.

So i learned is that there's a extra wiring harness for the heater controls (and AC) which connects to the main engine harness providing 12 volts.

Air Conditioning Harness – American Autowire. Theres  a reference to it in the engine harness instructions, which i recall now, but it didn't stick the first time. Theres also a relay that needs to be purchased separately, if the original is missing or shot. i think mine will probably work though.

Joe was very helpful and encouraged me to familiarize myself with the factory AC/Heat wiring diagram for 70 monte, which I'm doing. Once I get the harness and do all the fitting and crimping necessary I can update the thread in case i missed or misunderstood something.

BTW - i know M & H has a exact replica harness that requires no cutting or crimping connectors. I came close to buying that since I'm not really doing a retromod and keeping it mostly stock, but the AA harness seemed to be a good deal at the time. Wouldn't have bought either if the old wiring was in better shape, not all cut up and spliced to install an eighties/early nineties car stereo and aftermarket gauges, and both dash turn signals worked. At least i can discount the wiring as the source of problems hopefully.
