Bigfeetny Posted August 20 Posted August 20 So I have learned that a Chevelle rear seat will not fit a 1971 Monte Carlo, yes I'm using my Chevelle as a donor vehicle. I have striped the seats, however there are fine metal rods through the burlap. They are toast!! How important are they, and can they be replaced? Thanx Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted August 20 Posted August 20 I don't remember mine having them in there. I did put new burlap and also used canvas on them too. I did put extra springs in drivers side front seat too, that helped a lot. I did think the Chevelle frames were the same though. Hog rings are a real pain get a good set of hog ring plyers not a cheep set. 1 Quote

FrankOC Posted August 21 Posted August 21 A 68 Chevelle doesn’t have full arm rests that extend to the floor in the back if I remember correctly so the rear seat is wider. Quote

It is a 2 door. The interiors I have came from a 68 & 69, back in the day when they were a dime a dozen. I will measure the second one to see if it is different. The seat I measured was wider. 3 Quote
